Cooking from scratch is one of the best things you can do to improve your health and reveal the healing power of food. Mind you we don’t all have the time but From Scratch Cafe Bistro, a soon-to-be addition to Downtown Brantford is here to help!
Owner Terra Wilton & James Lorinczi are looking forward to their opening day and making everything in-house, from scratch right down to the buns they’ll use for their sandwiches. From Scratch Bistro will mostly be lunch-focused, so it will be Cafe style with a unique rotating Chef’s menu and one of the only bagel shops in the city offering both indoor dining and takeout.
When asked what they enjoy most about being downtown they shared that they love the city / urban feeling but yet also feel like fellow business owners are both neighbours and allies and a tight-knit crew!
“Downtown Brantford is honestly so historic and beautiful. We would love to see the hesitant reputation turned around. There is so much potential.” Harmony Square is a great example of that “It is so cozy and welcoming and we love the events that are put on by the city there.”
A ghost kitchen is a professional food preparation and cooking facility set up for the preparation of delivery-only meals. So while getting their separate brands, at the time, started during the pandemic both owners value their recent experience in a ghost kitchen as a stepping stone to get them to where they are today. Terra and James are grateful for that opportunity and now feel prepared and are excited to have a space to call theirs and the freedom to do exactly what they want to do.
With hopes that everyone will be patient and understanding with them in the beginning as they learn our way around a new space, we are confident they will be a great addition to Downtown and the City of Brantford.
I mean sandwiches aren’t just for busy mums, boozy nights out, picnics, and buffets. Sandwiches are a work of art and From Scratch Bistro is ready to prove that!
